My Story

Welcome! I'm LaSaundra Tarlton

My mission is to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the guidance, tools, and inspiration necessary to empower you to elevate your business to its highest potential.

My story

When I was growing up, I dreamed of being in business for myself. I didn't know what type of business or what industry, but I knew I had that entrepreneurial spirit in me. The child is the typical middle-class family, I was taught that you graduate from school (high school was good enough for my family), get a job, and stay until retirement to get the pension. Sound familiar?

Bless their hearts- my parents didn't have an entrepreneurial bone in their body and thought people were crazy who didn't just go work every day and collect a weekly paycheck.

I followed my parent's wishes to some extent. They pushed for me to go to college and then get a job until retirement. It's amazing how impressionable we are as children. I know my parents wanted nothing but the best for me and that was their idea of what that was.

Fortunately- it wasn't mine!

I did on to attend college but 8 of them!!! You heard right. I couldn't figure out what the heck I wanted to do until much later in life. So, for my bachelor's degree, I attended 6 different schools. I graduated high school in 1991…want to guess when I got my bachelor's degree? I'll save you the headache- 2009! I'm ok with that, I really am because I learned so much in between- about myself, about my likes and dislikes. So, I view it as a discovery journey.

However, once I figured out that I enjoyed business and had become a successful project manager, I decided I wanted to do a little more- something a little more meaningful.

I literally had a Legal Blonde moment and decided in a day that I was going to law school. I completed my J.D. in 2014. Then, I had the bright idea to get a Master's in Law degree. I completed that in 2017. Ok, now I'm really done with school.

I decided a couple of years ago that I wanted to take all my business knowledge, my project management expertise, and my legal background and start my own business. I had come full circle to what I wanted to do growing up.

Great, you think! Not, the first business was not successful financial wise, and I closed it in 2017. But it was extremely successful from a learning experience.

I had the opportunity to add more skills to my knowledge base and when the second business launched in 2018, it has been far more successful than the 1st business.

However, I still wasn't quite fulfilled. I thought about how hard it was for me the first time around and just listening to co-workers at the time has dreams of turning a passion, skill, or hobby into a business themselves but how they had no idea of where to start because of the overwhelming amount of information available online.

This is where E3 Consulting born. I decided to make it my mission to help others who were fed that outdated mentality of working for a company until retirement but has a desire to be CEO of their own business someday…let's get started!

I can help you if…

  • You have the idea, course, book, or product BUT you simply don't know where to start!
  • You're overworking the corporate 9-5 where you hope for just a 3-5% raise each year, if that and maybe, just maybe, a bonus
  • You’re already successful in your career but you’re ready to turn your passion into a business -- and make money at it but just not sure where or how to start.
  • You’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur but thought you didn’t have the right personality for it or that you have to be a crazy risk-taker (surprise: you don’t!)
  • You’re ready to get over your limiting beliefs about who you are, how successful you can be, and how much money you can make and ready to put in the work.

Care to get even more personal?

Check out these fun facts:

  • Love my Peloton Bike + and the Peloton community. Follow me at #ladytrides and I'll follow back.
  • I’m a born and raised Southern girl (a Southern Belle if you dare), specifically North Carolina. That means I love an ice-cold sweet tea just as much as sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair people-watching with my mom and grandmother. I can charm you with my tone while telling you the firm truth you need to hear but I’m never EVER rude. That’s not the kind of world I want to live in.
  • One of my guilty pleasures is TV. Give me Grey’s Anatomy, A Million Little Things, Suits (I know it's ended but it was one of my all-time favs!), Oval, and The Young & Restless any day.
  • I love ballroom dancing. I took was at the point a few years ago where I was considering competing but took a step back to focus on my businesses. I am hoping to resume before this year is out. My favorites include salsa, cha-cha, west coast swing, and tango. I'm pretty good if I can say so myself :)
  • I am a huge sports fan. I love all things football and college basketball- go Carolina Panthers! Go Carolina Tarheels! See a theme here, lol.
  • Family is hands-down the most important thing to me. That’s part of the reason I’m such an advocate for freedom in your life—because when you have it, you can spend it with the people who mean the most to you. And for me, that’s my husband, mother, soon-to-be kids, and huge family dinners with the rest of my big family. Recently, I became more grateful for my family than ever before. Last year, my dad lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. It meant the world to me that I was able to support my mom and dad in their challenges every step of the way. Nothing can replace the ability to take him to and from doctor’s appointments and to be there for my mother when he passed and still am. Freedom is my WHY. Freedom to take my kids around the world to see history not just read about it in books; freedom to sponsor mission trips at church and send multiple kids to summer retreats who otherwise could not afford it; freedom to fund a non-profit targeted at helping kids aging out of foster care and want to attend college; and yes, freedom to lay on a beach when I want working! Make sure you know yours because it can’t be just about money- that will not sustain you!

"Trust in the Lord with all you heart an lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."- Proverbs 3:5-6
